Open Relationships

Maybe it's just me, but open relationships make me kind of sad. Not really for me, but the people involved. It just seems like a way of publicly saying "We are not in love, but we can't find anyone better at the moment, and we don't want to be alone". What if one of them actually IS in love, but has to play along with the whole open bullshit in an attempt to salvage what they can from the bit of love they have known. Leaving the "Open" marker on it means it's open for the other takers. If someone else places a pressing enough offer, they might be able to weasel their way in, and take over, and possibly even have a "Real Relationship" with one of them. I know, I know, that's just the times, and people's freewill, blah, blah, blah. I don't care, I just saw this and it made me think of it.

Like a passing afternoon

"But my hands remember hers
Rolling around the shaded ferns
Naked arms, her secrets still like songs I'd never learned
There are names across the sea
Only now I do believe
Sometimes, with the window closed, she'll sit and think of me
But she'll mend his tattered clothes
And they'll kiss as if they know
A baby sleeps in all our bones, so scared to be alone"

As this distance weighs on me, I turn up the volume and hope the art gets better.

Daniel Johnston

I have renewed my admiration of this man lately. He is one of the most inspirational and awesome people I have seen. His enthusiasm and the sheer volume of his work lights a fire under me. If you haven't seen "The Devil and Daniel Johnston" you need to go rent it or buy ASAP! Trust me. It's one of the funniest and most tragic stories of mental health and art ever documented.

Joanna Newsom Vs. Gollum

See the comparison?? Okay, okay, so it isn't really that they LOOK alike, but listen. I think they sound an awful lot alike.
I'm not just trying to bash on her, I think she's talented, but lately she kinda gives me the creeps. I know she doesn't really talk like that, so it's just this fake Gollum voice she uses, and her music gets very redundant from one song to the next.
A little while back, I thought that creep James Blunt sounded a little like Gollum, but today it hit me. She is Gollum! She definitely should have performed 'Gollum's Song' for the LOTR movies.

Frankenstein Fetish

So I have just started to take notice of this apparent "Frankenstein Fetish" girls have going on these days. I started taking notice with the whole Edward Cullen craze and then saw some real life examples. Girls seem to be suckers for tall, goofy bastards with large heads, and even bigger foreheads. I apologize if I have just described you, but there's a good chance you're a creep.

The Bodies are Piling Up!!

I like to think of this line as a metaphor of sorts. Most people don't literally have human corpses building up somewhere that they are responsible for, BUT we do have wreckage that we leave behind us. We all cause pain and damage with our actions, and sometimes, by the time we see the piles growing around us, we're trapped inside.

Just Things

There are things that I have seen or felt and never will again. There are others that will return to me soon enough.
There are things inside of me that should probably stay there, but sometimes they wriggle their way past the surface.
There are things I see as clear as day, although the world will disagree and urge me to look the other direction.
There are people who don't want to be seen, don't want to be loved, and insist you leave them be.
There are times when I walk through life asleep, and miss everything it's trying to show me.
There are words that dance around my mouth, but never quite come out.
